Název anglicky / Title English: Simulation of kinetics of warm dense matter formation

Osnova / Outline:

Matter under high energy density deposition, such as in the inertial confinement fusion (ICF), underway to plasma formation transiently passes through the stage of so-called warm dense matter (WDM). This state of matter exhibits unusual properties, unlike any conventional solids and classical plasma [1]. This stage forms the initial conditions for plasma creation, influencing its properties. Understanding such a physical state is important for its control. In this project, a prospective student will work on identifying important materials used in experiments, and study their behavior under exposure to high-energy density radiation [2-5]. The tasks will include learning to operate our developed code [5], setting and running simulations, and analyzing the results identifying the material damage thresholds and properties of formed WDM. The project is expected to result into a publication in an international journal.
